An empty room is a story waiting to happen. Memories are an integral part of what we are and they are the basis for these paintings. These are rooms fitted with objects and furnishings and the colours operate as fragile clues of a time and place. The empty rooms are prompts to personal narratives which are both evocative and mindful. I paint on board in acrylic and old photographs and magazines are my starting point. The works are mixed media with paint, pencil, charcoal and collage all playing a part. Times change but our humanity, connections and memory remain.
