Kathy Barber

Memories dissolve into our sub consciousness and as I search to recall them, they become fragmented and stretched. I am left with the sinews, the fibres that knit together to form something deeper in response to these experiences. The power to evoke, rather than to state directly is at the heart of my abstraction.
I am represented in Auckland by Orexart and in Christchurch by Chambers Art Gallery where I am showing my works on paper, And was a recent finalist in the 2018 NZPPA and I am currently painting for a solo show this later year.
