I paint expressionist landscapes that are suspended between reality and illusion and are intended to provide a catalyst for the viewer to recall personal experiences with nature contained in the subconscious. My work is rooted in concern for the fragility of nature and the importance of preservation.
I aim to show environments unspoilt by man to highlight how the calming effect of nature plays a part in our mental as well as physical wellbeing.
I work with acrylic on canvas, using colour and light to create atmosphere. My inspiration is the New Zealand landscape.
