This piece is inspired by my personal encounters with our cheeky native bird; The Fantail. They are curious little things, jittering about creating mischief. I often discover these birds whilst trying to have some quiet time. I personally believe (Like with sparrows) that Fantails are brought to us from the spirit world. A kind of messenger.
So the image of the girl, sitting, thinking, contemplating or perhaps enjoying her moment with her little visitor. Much like when a fantail visits me, I always say "Hi Grandpa!"
