Mandy Rodger
Mandy Rodger is an abstract painter whose work is distinguished by sweeping gestures, expressive mark-making and a deep engagement with the physical act of painting. After a career in law, she studied at Browne School of Art and has worked from Studio 6 in central Auckland since 2018. A double finalist in the National Contemporary Art Awards and a finalist in the NZ Painting and Printmaking Awards, Cleveland National Art Awards and Craigs Aspiring Art Prize, Mandy presents a new body of black and white paintings that explores the expressive power of gesture, rhythm, texture, and tonal contrast.
