Paul Shale
Auckland based artist, Paul Shale, is a visual poet, photographer and painter. Paul often merges these mediums, bringing poetry into his photographs and paintings. Paul won his first public poetry award when he was at secondary school, sold out his first solo gallery exhibition in 2002, and is represented by Parnell Gallery. His featured works in the Baradene Art Show come from his "Some kind of blue" series - where he seeks to capture the emotion and feel of a place in time (rather than documenting its photographic reality) through the abstraction of movement, colour and light.
