Rebecca’s floral paintings are created with a process driven method which involves many layers of brightly hued acrylic paint. The paint is thickened with molding paste and applied over several sittings with brushes and palette knives to create a richly textured surface. These layers are then buried under thin coats of paint which are wiped away and sanded back to reveal the floral shapes beneath. As the layers are sanded back, courious and surprising combinations of colour are revealed as different levels of the history of the painting are exposed.
