Over the last decade my glass adventures have taken me about as far away from home as is possible. In my final year at Wanganui Ucol I won a scholarship to study Glass Design for a semester at Kalmar University. Doors opened and I stayed in Sweden five years learning from some of the best glassblowers in the world. I had the privilege of a traditional apprenticeship followed by post graduate study at the Orrefors Glass School and later employment there. My current work reflects influences from our young island nation combined with skills and traditions I acquired in Scandinavia.
